Veterancy of units & armor and weapon upgrades

I did not liked the idea of upgrading units to veteran, guard & imperial units etc with a tech in vanilla Aoe 3. I have an idea about this. Why not units getting promoted to higher status once they killed enough enemy soldiers.The speed of gaining veterancy could be increased by techs but you must fight in order to get promotions. We can have a training center where military units can go & boost up their experience. Some professional units would come with veteran/guard status when they are created.
Also I would like to have armour & weapon upgrades like in Aoe 2. Armour upgrades would increase resistance against certain attacks instead of boosting HP directly. Weapon upgrades would change the stats of units. So for example an archer upgraded to crossbows will have new stats with very high attack but a bit slower reloading. So do you like my ideas ? First of all, archers will never get crossbows. There's the Archer unit and the Crossbowman unit, and they remain separate units throughout the game.

I think it's impossible to make unit get better the more units they kill.
AOE2 system though would be awesome...

In the scenario editor is easy and possible so I presume it should be also possible in modding ( if not I will make one of the scens of ths campaign have this Razz)

Sure it's possible with triggers, but then nearly everything is possible with triggers. Modding is much more restricted.

with trigger I can make so as soon one unit is killed the map explodes and a new race of aliens start habitating earth then a mighty hero kills all of them and then a demon conquest the world but then god kille him muahahahahahahahahahqahahahahahahahaha
