Well, here's a strangest thing I experience. The texture bug happily pops up for every custom skin I have, walls, outposts, mills, and units of course. But, the Schutter/Schutze (now named Fencible) I added from WotTA I believe (might be from NE but I doubt it), NEVER loses its custom texture. I mean, its goddamn amazing how everything else does but that unit never does it. At least I never say it happen.

Ideas?

How does "UpdateVisual" tag not have to do with the problem? It updates the texture when ageing up, thus it is a replace texture. Same thing.

You didn't explain why update visual tag doesn't cause replace texture bug.

Every time I age up to age 4 I get replace texture bug. It occurs as soon as the age 4 age up tech finishes researching.

Thus the update visual tag causes replace texture bug.

There's some units that suffer the replacetexture bug more frequently than others, I suspect it has something to do with how many times the base model has been used for replacetexture, but that's just an idea...

Huanglukuzhu (or it could be Hakase Moe, I always struggle to keep them apart) had the exact opposite idea, actually, that the more models were being used, the more frequent the replacetexture bug would occur...

Huanglukuzhu was the one dabbling with replacetexture, Hakasa Moe was the one who made the Zombie mod.

So is he saying that when you age up, it is not the texture itself that overloads the graphics card (or at least what the AoE3 engine has defined to be an overload for a 2005 computer), but it is actually the models referenced by the replacetexture tag?

So what happens if the town center model stays the same the whole time and just the texture changes?
Has he tried that?
